Electrical submersible pump (ESP) operation is compromised by free gas, resulting in premature failure and production losses new wells. It essential to detect the onset of abnormal operations. We develop a model that predicts ESP when gas level increases pump. The compares parameters with normal operating ranges; it shuts down necessary. used Schlumberger PIPESIM software (version 2017.01) perform nodal analysis technique; we tested using other multiphase correlation field case studies (where problem was reported). employ homogenous calculate differential pressures at various volume fractions. Nodal intake discharge point predicted commencement conditions associated (critical fraction, minimum pressure, pressure). results were similar surging models (e.g., Romero, Dunbar, Turpin, Cirilo, Zhou models); they also identical studies. identify three performance stability phases an exposed gas.
